Poole Men's Shed clear overgrown garden.

Terry, Alan, Rob & David spent a day clearing an overgrown garden for a lady in Canford Heath.

Visit to the Oak Fair at Stock Gaylard, Dorset.

Wednesday 16th August 2017.

Removal of the Limelights flower bed.

A fine group of Poole Shedders turned out to remove a brick flower bed at the Limelights Centre.

This will area will now be more useful as additional car parking space.






Wednesday 2th August 2017.

Visit to the Stone Carving Festival

Members enjoying the stone carving spectacular in the rain at the Square and Compass at Worth Matravers.

No carving done but an excellent pasty lunch was enjoyed after the event!

Rob likes to catch his like a seal!

BBQ

Following our usual Wednesday meeting at Limelights several shed members left to go to an afternoon BBQ at Stoney Wood.

A good time was had by all.






Wednesday 5th July 2017.

Poole Park Railway

Poole Men's Shed visited Poole Park on Wednesday 5th July.

They heard that the railway will soon be up and running in the near future and that volunteers will be required to assist.

As you can see in the picture below Poole Men's Shed are looking into it.

Visit to Hall & Woodhouse Brewery Open Day.

Three of our members had a very enjoyable time at the Brewery open day.

Visit to Didcot Railway Museum.

Several members visited Didcot Railway Museum.

Thursday 15th June 2017.

Erection of the tortoise fence.

Rob and Stan from Poole Men's Shed erected the "Tortoise fence."

It was slow job, but a successful one!






Wednesday 10th May 2017.

Handover of bagatelle to Marie Curie Poole.

Val Sawdy & Richard Ayres from Marie Curie Poole visited Poole Men's Shed at Limelights to collect a bagatelle board built by Ross Bradley.

Wednesday 1rd March 2017.

Learning to play bowls.

Five members visited the Dolphin Indoors Bowls Club, Poole for a 2hr tuition session.

They then played a few ends before enjoying lunch afterwards at the Club.

Tuesday 28rd February 2017.

A Shed Donated.

Over a couple of days, members of Poole Men's Shed dismantled a shed kindly donated by Mr Lee Burchell, proprietor of Stoney Down Camping Club.

The old shed was transported to be stored at our premises at Learoyd Road for future use.








Monday 27rd February 2017.

What's On


On Wednesday we welcome Linda Nother from the Brownsea Island Theatre group. She will be talking about how we can help build the stage set for the production on the Island during the summer months. Come and listen if it interests you.

Also on Wednesday Frank Brown"s widow, Kate and her daughter will be visiting and intend to make a small donation to the shed.

Wednesday evening 6pm to 8pm . Ross, Chris H ,Terry, Stan and Alan will be visiting the indoor bowls centre 52, Waterloo Rd BH17 7LG.

March sees two trips, one to skittles, see Rob and sign up, the other to ten pin bowling, see Chris F and sign up. Visitors welcome.

Hoping to arrange a couple of talks for Wednesdays, one on Pyrography, the other on the work of Marie Curie.


Lots going on, please do get involved and if you would like to organise something please say.

We do need to spread the organising load.

Bell Ringing Lessons.

A dozen Shed members attended a short tuition on English style bell ringing at All Saints church, Hampreston.

Following the tuition several members had a go at ringing - with mixed results!

They also visited the belfry.

Afterwards a good pub lunch was enjoyed.

Visit of Dorset Community Foundation (DCF)

Staff & Ambassadors of DCF visited our shed.

We are very grateful for the generous grant from them which will enable us to expand our services and offer places for new members.
